Kyle Mullin’s “Protests for Palestine” shortlisted for the Atlantic Student Journalism awards

Last month it was announced that my story, about Yossi Olmert’s controversial lecture at St. Thomas University in March 2009, had been shortlisted for the ASJ awards.

I’d like to congratulate Nicole Badry for the big win, along with fellow¬†nominees Lindsay Carroll, Damira Davletyarova and my Aquinian cohorts Stephanie vanKampen and Adam Wright-¬†you all did a stellar job!

Iranians fight for freedom on Canada Day

While Frederictonians gathered to celebrate their nation’s independence Wednesday afternoon, the city’s Iranian community donned green garb in a march dedicated to family and friends fighting for the same kind of freedom back home.

From refugee to Reggae rhythms

Canada Day marked the one-year anniversary that Saa Andrew Gbongbor received his Canadian citizenship, an occasion he’ll forever celebrate along with the birthday of his new home. But the refugee from Sierra Leone said it was no coincidence they fell on the same day.
